The Heart Behind HR: The WLS Story

How It All Began

WLS was founded by Bridget C Lewis, an educator-turned-HR-strategist with a heart for people and a bold vision for better workplaces.

After decades of experience in education, workforce development, and training, Bridget launched WLS in 2010 to fill a crucial gap: helping small and mid-sized businesses build people-first workplaces that don’t just function — they flourish.

Her early work as a teacher in the Caribbean and later as a corporate trainer in Georgia laid the foundation for the WLS approach: always intentional, never rushed. The focus was clear — elevate people, and businesses will rise too.

With over 40 years of experience in education, workforce development, and HR consulting, she helps small and mid-sized businesses rise—beyond limitations, labels, and long odds—by building people-first systems rooted in clarity, consistency, and care.

At WLS, helping isn’t just a service—it’s a calling. Under Bridget’s leadership, the company’s purpose is lived out daily: Empowering the Undervalued. Equipping the Unseen. Elevating the Everyday. She leads with empathy and strategy, blending the relational with the revolutionary to create HR systems that actually work for real people.

Bridget is the architect of the WE DO HR framework—People, Training, and Benefits—a holistic, heart-forward model designed to help businesses cultivate strong teams, deliver meaningful learning experiences, and offer benefits that truly support  their employees’ lives.

And while she honors timeless values like integrity, patience, and kindness, she’s also fiercely future-minded.
